The parents of a University of Pennsylvania student have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Panera Bread.

The parents of a University of Pennsylvania student have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Panera Bread Monday. They claim their 22-year-old daughter with a heart condition died after consuming a heavily caffeinated energy drink that she may have believed was regular lemonade.

In an autopsy report obtained by CNN, the medical examiner cites Katz's cause of death as cardiac arrhythmia due to long QT syndrome . LQTS is a disorder that can cause fast and irregular heartbeats that can be life-threatening, according to the Mayo Clinic. However, Katz was "reasonably confident it was a traditional lemonade and/or electrolyte sports drink containing a reasonable amount of caffeine safe for her to drink," the lawsuit says, adding that Panera misled consumers by not properly labeling "Charged Lemonade" as an energy drink in stores.
