The Naming Commission, created by Congress, unveiled its recommendations for renaming nine Army posts at a virtual press conference. The list will be forwarded to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who has the authority to act on them. “While we anticipate that renaming activities would take place around that time frame, the role of our commission is strictly to provide recommendations, not execute activities on behalf of DoD,” said Lawrence Romo, a commission member who lives in San Antonio.
