The resident heard noises emanating from the basement and went to investigate, believing an animal had entered from outside, according to Palo Alto police.
Palo Alto police on Wednesday sought the public's help to identify and locate a man who was found prowling in a resident's basement.
An investigation into the report revealed the resident – a man in his 80s – and his wife were in the home when they heard noises emanating from the basement, which had an unlocked entrance on the exterior of the home. The victim did not report any property missing from the home and no injuries were reported, according to Palo Alto police.
