The town of Brooke’s Point in Palawan province recorded its first new COVID-19 case after a male LSI, who returned to the southern municipality, tested positive for the disease.

Dr. Lovelyn Sotoza, municipal health officer of Brooke’s Point, said the COVID-19-positive patient is a 22-year-old LSI, who arrived at the Puerto Princesa City Airport on July 5 onboard a flight that came from Metro Manila.Immediately after arrival, the man traveled to his hometown, where he was tested and found positive for COVID-19. He is now confined at a hospital in the town, said Sotoza.

“He is symptomatic, he has a cough. We’re giving him medicines for mild symptomatic COVID-19 patients, according to the clinical guidelines set by the Department of Health,” Sotoza said.
