Malacañang has cautioned against the purchase of faulty coronavirus test kits, saying it was prudent to get such medical supplies from reputable sources.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the United Kingdom bought Wondfo test kits, which were supposed to detect antibodies for coronavirus, but the kits reportedly did not work well.

He said local government units have been authorized to procure and use Food and Drug Administration -approved antibody test kits. “Karamihan po kasi dito made in China, pero tingnan naman natin kung sino ang may hawak ng patent. Kasi mayroon ding mga Amerikano, mayroon ding mga German, mayroon ding mga Dutch, iyon po iyong mga mapapagkatiwalaan, at mayroon ding mga Korean brands na reliable naman,” he said.
