Malacañang has honored those who gave their lives in the five-month war against Islamic State-inspired terrorists in Marawi City in the siege’s third-year anniversary on Saturday .“Today, as we remember Marawi, we pay tribute to the heroism of our fallen men in uniform during the siege of the Islamic City,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement Saturday afternoon.
According to Roque, the Duterte administration has already made inroads in relocating internally displaced persons and building the key infrastructures of Marawi. The TFBM added that government was targeting to build 3,580 permanent shelters to be completed in the first quarter of 2021. Currently, 165 units are occupied.
