Malacañang declared June 24, 2023 a special non-working day in the City of Manila.

The holiday declaration was made through Proclamation No. 261, which was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 15, by authority of President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. The proclamation stated that June 24, 2023, which falls on a Saturday, will mark the 452nd founding anniversary of Manila.

"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration," the proclamation read.
