The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance says that Yun Chuan and Xin Bao will spend the next several weeks acclimating to their new home in a private habitat at the San Diego Zoo and will not be viewable to the public during this time.
This photo released by the San Diego Zoo shows giant panda Xin Bao on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in the Sichuan province of China. A pair of giant pandas will soon make the journey from China to the U.S., where they will be cared for at the San Diego Zoo as part of an ongoing conservation partnership between the two nations, officials said Monday, April 29.
“They are being monitored closely by expert wildlife health and care teams who will determine when the pair are ready to meet the public,” the alliance said.
