A burst pipe turns Eddie Esterhay’s yard into rapids every time there is heavy rain, but he cannot get clarity on what he can do next.
PAINESVILLE, Ohio -
In June, for the first time since he moved to the home just outside of Painesville, water started pouring like a spring out of two spots in his yard. “I called a contractor, and he was like, ‘I don’t feel comfortable touching it because it could be a liability,‘” said Esterhay. He feels if he tries some type of fix, he could get a fine because it impacts the entire neighborhood, but the county also does not want to spend taxpayer money on a private issue.
