Pagpatay sa human rights defender sa Bacolod City, iniimbestigahan na ng CHR

Sinimulan na ng Commission on Human Rights ang imbestigasyon sa pagpaslang sa human rights activist na si Zara Reboton Alvarez sa Bacolod City.

Lunes ng gabi nang pagbabarilin si Alvarez ng hindi pa nakikilalang salarin habang papauwi sa kaniyang boarding house sa Eroreco Subdivision sa Barangay Mandalagan sa Bacolod City.

Si Alvarez ang head ng Health Integrated Program in Negros Island at miyembro rin siya ng KARAPATAN Negros. Samantala, iba’t ibang progresibong grupo ang nagpahayag ng kani-kanilang pakikiramay at pagkondena sa pagpatay kay Alvarez.
