A TOTAL of P77.33 billion in home loans has been disbursed from January to August this year, the Pag-IBIG Fund announced on Monday.
This reflects an increase of P383 million compared to the P76.94 billion released during the same period last year, the agency said in a statement.Housing Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar, concurrent head of the 11-member Pag-IBIG board of trustees, said the record marks the highest home loan release for the same period in its history and underscored Pag-IBIG's growing role in supporting the homeownership aspirations of Filipino workers.
Quoting records, Acuzar said the amount of home loans released by Pag-IBIG within the period enabled 54,063 members to acquire or improve their own homes, allowing it to remain true to its mandate of providing quality and affordable housing to more Filipino workers.Meanwhile, Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta said the sustained affordability and reliability of the agency's housing loan programs for its members could be attributed to Pag-IBIG's continuous growth.
