NATIONAL Irrigation Administration Administrator Benny Antiporda said that the Severe Tropical Storm 'Paeng' damage to irrigation system in the country has reached P825.98 million, including P225 million in Mindanao.During the Laging Handa briefing, Antiporda assured that the NIA is implementing measures to ensure a steady supply of water in the affected areas.
Rest assured that once repaired, our irrigation system will be more resilient when it comes to disasters like this,' Antiporda said.Antiporda added that NIA will use its savings to repair the affected irrigation facilities.'We don't have quick response funds but since its almost end of the year, we can use our savings to provide remedy to the damaged irrigation facilities for us to deliver water needed by our farmers,' Antiporda said.
