Dylan Cease now slated to start the finale in Miami on Sunday, pushing Joe Musgrove’s return to Monday at Petco Park; Ha-Seong Kim gets back on field, but not in lineup
Padres starting pitcher Dylan Cease delivers one of the 14 pitches he threw in his only inning against the Pirates on Tuesday.
Thus, Cease will pitch Sunday in Miami. That was to be when Musgrove started. It now is all but certain Musgrove will pitch Monday against the Pirates at Petco Park. But with Ha-Seong Kim missing a second consecutive game due to right triceps soreness and Shildt having acknowledged it was possible the Padres could shuffle the infield alignment if Kim were out a while, it seemed it might be something.
