Tatis has solid series to pull out of slump; wears ice pack on surgically repaired shoulder after Sunday's game, says it has been a mild nuisance for almost two weeks
He also wore an ice pack secured to his left shoulder by a wrap after Sunday’s 5-4 loss to the Diamondbacks.Tatis, who had labrum repair surgery last September, said the wrap was unrelated to a head-first slide while taking an extra base on an RBI single in Sunday’s first inning. He knelt for several seconds at second base after the play.
Tatis, who has started 24 consecutive games and 97 of 98 games since returning from his suspension on April 20, said he has been feeling sorenes for “less than two weeks” in the shoulder.Losing Tatis would be something like a knockout blow, especially after he pulled out of a skid during the past three days.
“I feel like I’m seeing better the ball, taking better swings, laying off some good pitches,” he said. “Had some decent results in this series.” “I was just trying to be very picky with myself in this last series,” he said. “Just because the results … I was having — hitting the ball hard but still not having results. So just being very picky and just overseeing every single details. I feel that it helped a little bit.”, who fought his curveball for a while early, was at 87 pitches after five innings.
