Padres right-hander Mike Clevinger will make one more rehab start with Triple-A El Paso
Mike Clevinger said his right knee is healthy. He’d declared his right elbow strong all spring training.
Clevinger is much closer than Snell, who will throw to hitters Saturday before potentially making his first rehab start next week at low Single-A Lake Elsinore. The delayed start to Clevinger’s season has another silver lining as he returns from a second Tommy John surgery that wiped out his 2021 season.
While Abrams has hits in his last two starts, his playing time has dwindled during a 4-for-30 start to his big-league career. Kim started a fifth straight game in the field on Friday and could be in lineup throughout the weekend as the Dodgers are starting three left-handers in the series.
