Merrill earned his award on the steam of hitting .320/.346/.650 with nine homers, seven doubles, 20 RBIs, 17 runs and two steals in 28 games last month. Merrill’s 33 hits were the most by a Padre aged 21 or younger since Fernando Tatis Jr.’ managed 36 in August 2020.
