Paddy McGuinness's comedy series 'Paddy', loosely based on his life and separation, has been shelved by BBC bosses due to fears it might be seen as "distasteful and insensitive" in light of his split from Christine. The self-titled sitcom was poised for a green light after a successful pilot, featuring Paddy at 51 playing himself as he muddled through the aftermath of a breakup.
Despite finalising their divorce recently, Paddy and his ex-wife reside together in a £2.5 million Cheshire mansion for their children's wellbeing. Christine, who turned 36, was said to be upset upon discovering the show's concept online. A close source voiced concerns, highlighting: "Christine is distraught that their divorce is going to be the butt of the jokes. She's completely broken over the divorce and we are genuinely worried about her," reports the Manchester Evening News.
