Sen. Manny Pacquiao says voters should reject fellow presidential hopefuls Isko Moreno and Bongbong Marcos because of corruption issues.

Sen. Manny Pacquiao said Filipinos should not vote for fellow presidential hopefuls Isko Moreno and Bongbong Marcos because of corruption issues.

Pacquiao made the statement during an interview with talk show host Boy Abunda which aired on Friday.May bahid ng korapsyon. May issue ng korapsyon. Alam mo naman ang korapsyon sa ating bansa, 'yan ang dahilan kung bakit tayo naghihirap.[Translation: He is hounded by corruption issues. Corruption in our country is the reason many of us are poor.]

The son and namesake of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos has been involved in several cases over his family's alleged ill-gotten wealth. He was also implicated in the multibillion-peso pork barrel scam. Moreno, meanwhile, was sued for plunder in 2014 when he was Manila vice mayor for allegedly pocketing over ₱70 million in real property taxes.

Pacquiao reiterated his promise to prioritize eradicating corruption in government if he wins the elections in May.Tumatakbo ako dahil alam na alam ko kung ano ang gagawin ko lalong lalo na sa pagsugpo ng korapsyon at pagpapalakas ng ating ekonomiya, na makapagbigay ng trabaho sa milyun-milyong mga Pilipino[Translation: I am running for president because I really know what to do especially in eradicating corruption and improving our economy, so that we can give jobs to millions of Filipinos.
