Presidential candidate Senator MannyPacquiao on Friday said he does not believe that his rival bongbongmarcos will allow investigations to proceed concerning his pending cases if the latter wins the race.

TALISAY City, Negros Occidental —Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao on Friday said he does not believe that his rival Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. will allow investigations to proceed concerning his pending cases if the latter wins the race.

"Hindi ako maniwala diyan, sarili imbestigahan? Hindi nga maibalik eh, hindi nga mabayad eh, imbestigahan pa kaya? 'Pag maniwala pa ang tao ng ganiyan, para tayong talagang walang pinag-aralan," Pacquiao said in a media briefing here when asked by reporters if he believes Marcos Jr. will commit to proceed with the investigations regarding his cases, including the unpaid multi-billion-peso estate tax.

"Lahat ng paraan ng magagandang salita talagang sasabihin sa panahon ng eleksyon. Lahat ng mga kandidatong tumatakbo sinasabi ang mga salita para iboto ng tao," he said. Senator Imee Marcos, Marcos Jr.'s sister, earlier in the day questioned the timing of the estate tax issue, tagging it as part of the"Hindi naman timing yan, noon pa man pinag-uusapan ang utang nila sa BIR. Kailangan nilang bayaran. Sinabi na nga ni Presidente na magbayad kayo ng taxes sa gobyerno, para may pera, may pondo ang ating gobyerno."

Imee further said the Marcoses have yet to receive any communication from the Bureau of Internal Revenue demanding payment for a multi-billion-peso tax on the estate of their father and late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
