How will the Packers respond from their season-opening dud? While history might suggest favorably — Green Bay coach Matt La Fleur is 6-0 against the Bears in his career, while the Packers have won 20 of the past 23 in the series — inconsistency and injuries from the Pack could make this closer than some think.Yeah, yeah. Rodgers has thrown 61 touchdown passes against the Bears, his most against any foe, including 14 over the past four starts, amassing a 141.5 quarterback rating over that span.
He’s been equally solid on “Sunday Night Football,” accounting for 74 touchdowns against 11 interceptions in 29 career starts. A common denominator then: an experienced receiving corps, often led by Davante Adams, who was traded to Oakland in the offseason. Minus much of Green Bay’s returning wideout depth and down both starting offensive tackles due to injury, Rodgers and the Green Bay passing game looked vulnerable at Minnesota.
A fast-learning Bears secondary and a blend of age and youth on the Chicago defensive front should keep Rodgers honest. Veteran Robert Quinn had three of his franchise-best 18 ½ sacks against the Packers last season, while rookie Dominique Robinson posted 1 ½ sacks against the 49ers.
