The knee injury was relatively minor, but the Lisfranc foot injury required season-ending surgery that included a plate and two screws. “It was very tough because any little thing, I kept feeling like I got closer and closer to making it back and, boom, something else would happen,” Stokes said. “It’s just like, dang. Throughout this whole thing, I feel like it taught me patience more than anything to where I feel like I’m ready.”
“We missed him,” Douglas said. “Stokes is like our little brother, so we need him around to get our spirits going and stuff like that. Just happy to have him back.”
