Green Bay Packers secure their second consecutive playoff berth with a victory over the New Orleans Saints. While Jordan Love's passing game wasn't stellar, a powerful rushing attack led by Josh Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson, and Chris Brooks propelled the Packers to victory.
Jordan Love didn't have his best performance in the Packers' victory, but a dominant rushing attack carried Green Bay to a win. The Saints struggled to compete with injuries, and Spencer Rattler couldn't put any points on the board. New Orleans fell to 5-10 with the loss, officially eliminated from playoff contention. Green Bay improved to 11-4 and clinched their playoff spot for the second straight season with Love.
The Packers were powered by Josh Jacobs, Emanuel Wilson, and Chris Brooks on the ground. Jacobs led the way with 69 yards on 13 carries, while Wilson added 52 yards on 11 carries. Brooks chipped in 23 yards on six attempts, with all three rushers scoring a touchdown apiece. With a total of 188 rushing yards from nine different rushers, Green Bay easily outpaced New Orleans. It was a different story for the Saints on the ground. Without leading rusher Alvin Kamara, no one could generate momentum against the Packers' defense. Rattler led the way with 28 yards on five attempts. Three other rushers combined for 15 carries and just 39 yards, with Jordan Mims' 16 yards on four attempts leading the way. Kendre Miller had 15 yards on eight runs. The win moved Green Bay to 11-4 and officially clinched a playoff spot. The Packers are currently the No. 6 seed, after being No. 7 last season, and showing the potential for a deep playoff run. Just above Green Bay are the Minnesota Vikings, who are 13-2 and battling the also 13-2 Detroit Lions for the NFC North title and the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Green Bay will need help if it hopes to climb higher in the standings. While the Packers put up 34 points, Love wasn't as influential as he could've been on the night. He completed just 16 of 28 passes for 182 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. Love had a strong playoff run last season, but he's struggled with inconsistency this year
