The Indiana Pacers, after a disappointing loss to the San Antonio Spurs in the first of a two-game Paris showcase, are poised for a comeback in the finale at Accor Arena. Despite a strong showing from Victor Wembanyama, the Pacers are expected to leverage their recent performance, rebounding from losses and capitalizing on opportunities against Western Conference opponents.

Although the Indiana Pacers suffered a significant loss to Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday during the first game of a two-game Paris showcase, they are expected to rebound in the finale on Saturday at Accor Arena. The Pacers were outscored 45-23 in a decisive third quarter, marking only the second time this season an opponent has scored 40 or more points in a single period against them.

However, Indiana has a history of bouncing back after losses, boasting a 4-1 SU record after their last five defeats while averaging 117.6 points. They have also held their own against Western Conference teams, holding a 9-5 SU mark on the season. While the San Antonio Spurs are a top 10 scoring team in the NBA, their offense has shown signs of struggle lately, failing to reach 115 points in two out of their last seven games. Despite this, Wembanyama's performance in the opener was impressive, captivating the French crowd with 30 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and five blocks in 32 minutes. The Pacers, however, have been playing some of their best basketball before Thursday's defeat. They have only lost back-to-back games once since Christmas. The Pacers' star player, Pascal Siakam, surprisingly attempted only 10 shots against the Spurs, his lowest total since December 8th against the Hornets. Despite this, he still managed to score 18 points, a testament to his efficiency. This marks only the third time this season that Siakam has attempted 10 or fewer shots, suggesting an increase in his shot attempts in the upcoming game. He has been particularly strong against Indiana, scoring 20 or more points in five of his previous six games. Adding to the Spurs' offensive firepower is Josh Primo, who has been performing well against Indiana. Primo drilled five out of six attempts in their last meeting and has surpassed his O/U of 2.5 in six straight contests. Primo's shooting percentage on more than seven attempts in nine January games stands at a solid 40.6%, indicating a continued trend of strong performance. Looking ahead to Saturday's game, the Pacers are expected to bounce back, capitalizing on their recent track record and Siakam's potential for a higher shot volume.
