The Utes and Buffaloes continue to thrive as Arizona and Oregon stumble.
Comment: Cameron Brink is the Pac-12 Player of the Week for a third time after her triple-double against Oregon. Her 22 blocks in the last three games are the most for a Pac-12 player in that span over at least the last 20 seasons. The Cardinal made eight 3-pointers in the victory over Oregon, its highest total since Dec. 31. Stanford is back to No. 2 in the AP poll, behind South Carolina, after two weeks below that mark.Comment: Utah’s No.
Comment: USC’s recovery from the Utah loss to win in Boulder deserved more attention than it received Sunday due to the Brink and Pili achievements for their teams. Destiny Littleton made a career-high six 3-pointers against the Buffaloes, with Rayah Marshall and Kadi Sissoko contributing double-doubles. USC is off to its best start through 21 games since the 2015-16 season.
Comment: Charlisse Leger-Walker returning from New Zealand was an obvious lift, but the Cougars wouldn’t have swept the Arizona schools without Tara Wallack. The 6-foot-2 guard had the first double-doubles of her career: 15 points and 11 rebounds against ASU, then 12 and 12 against Arizona. “We didn’t play a great game at Arizona State, and we needed to clean up some things to even have a chance against Arizona,” coach Kamie Ethridge said.
