Pennsylvania State Police have two fixed wing planes and six helicopters to assist in investigations, searches for missing or wanted persons, and other tactical operations such as transporting prisoners or personnel.

The state police use enlisted department members to fly its aircraft, which according to its website are assigned to geographically dispersed airports so the response time in any of the six patrol zones is within 30 minutes. However, the aircraft are not restricted to a particular patrol zone.
