As the end of the state's fiscal year nears and negotiations are fully underway of a 2023-24 spending plan, Senate Majority Leader Joe Pittman talked with reporters about his caucus' views on issues competing for attention in budget talks with the House and Gov. Josh Shapiro.

owners so they pay their fair share to support transportation that is roughly what gas-powered vehicle owners pay in gas tax.Pittman said there will undoubtedly be a larger investment in education in the 2023-23 budget but he made a point of saying his caucus favors putting more money in programs that empower parents to choose which schools their children attend as well as funding for career and technical education.

“I’m more concerned we have the right product in place for taxpayers,” he said. “Having said that, I don’t anticipate us being here throughout the summer.” One of them would require voters to present identification every time they vote and the other would allow the General Assembly to have veto power over regulations they dislike.after passing four separate bills already this year dealing exclusively with providing a two-year window for survivors of childhood sexual abuse who were timed out of filing civil lawsuits against their abuser.
