While Selinsgrove’s letter sought to downplay the vandalism, Milton officials responded with their own news release, which pointed out that they also found graffiti in the visitors’ locker room, something that wasn’t mentioned in Selinsgrove’s news release. But comments on those social media posts by students indicating that players had intentionally urinated on the locker room floor were not true, according to Selinsgrove’s statement.
According to Selinsgrove, there were no initial reports nor additional evidence revealing any structural or physical damage aside from the brooms, decals, dry erase nameplates and liquid, Jankowski said.“any students who have conducted themselves in a manner that is not consistent” with expectations “From a societal standpoint, this is a good example of how heightened emotions accompanied with the viral nature of social media can lead people down a path of immediate negative judgement beyond credible facts,” Jankowski wrote. “The previous public narrative was proven not holistically credible and in fact, inaccurate.”
