The Kutztown Area School District released a statement describing Derrick Rump, 38, as “a quiet, kind, helpful, cooperative student who loved art and music.'
Derrick Rump, 38, a Kutztown Area High School graduate who moved several years ago to the city south of Denver, was a quiet kid growing up but always had a bubbly and welcoming personality, his cousin Kelly Plante said.“Derrick was a phenomenal person. He had a heart of gold and he got along with everybody,” Plante said. “We got into a lot of trouble together.”
The Kutztown Area School District released a statement describing Rump as “a quiet, kind, helpful, cooperative student who loved art and music enjoyed the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe, math, and was a student who was well thought of by his peers and teachers.” The statement continued: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the extended Rump family in this time of loss. Please join us in teaching our kids the value of human life and creating a future where violence of this nature is unheard of.”
