A Pennsylvania man has been accused of intentionally hitting another man with his car, according to police.

Derek James Lewis Jr., 22, of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody at Allegheny County Jail and denied bail,The victim’s girlfriend said Lewis almost hit her car with his vehicle, and her boyfriend got out to confront him. According to the complaint, Lewis then backed up and ran him over. Harmar Township police responded to the call about the incident, saying they found the victim still under the Lewis’ vehicle when they arrived on the scene.

Lewis told authorities he was only planning to hit the victim with his car, but not run him over, the complaint stated.
