House Democratic Leader Joanna McClinton was sworn in on Tuesday as the majority leader of the state House, leading House GOP Leader to accuse her of an 'illegitimate power grab.'

Austin Davis, who is now lieutenant governor-elect, and Summer Lee, who was elected to Congress, both submitting their resignations, effective immediately. House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler of Lancaster County accuses his Democratic counterpart, Rep. “The facts are what the facts are from Nov. 8,” said House Democratic Whip Jordan Harris of Philadelphia, who along with McClinton and House Democratic Appropriations Committee Chairman Matt Bradford of Montgomery County met with reporters on Tuesday. But the Department of State on Tuesday rejected Cutler’s writ. In a letter to House Chief Clerk Brooke Wheeler, Acting Secretary of State Leigh Chapman said DeLuca’s seat didn’t become vacant until Dec. 1 so Cutler’s writ was issued prematurely.
