Brian Munroe, D-Bucks, and thus of particular interest for the state to prop up. Shapiro’s budget proposal had shown this at $24.7 million, with the difference due to HB1249 including “more certification types than the initial estimate included in the budget proposal,” House Appropriations Chair Jordan Harris, D-Philadelphia, said in Tuesday’s committee meeting.

House Minority Leader Bryan Cutler, R-Lancaster, criticized the measure as “unfocused” and lacking incentives for existing nurses, teachers, and police.
