The Pennsylvania Health Department is distributing 50,000 care kits across the state to address the serious wounds caused by using the fast-growing illicit drug, xylaxine.
The kits have been distributed to more than 200 medical and harm reduction organizations to help those with substance use disorder and will be available at treatment centers and through online and phone-in programs. The kits include products needed to properly treat wounds, such as sanitizing wipes, gloves, sponges, ointment and bandages.
