WILLIAMSPORT – A Potter County natural gas well service company has agreed to pay $184,000 to a cancer-stricken worker it was accused of firing in violation with the Americans with Disabilities Act . A consent decree filed Monday in U.S. Middle District Court resolves a suit the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission brought against Gas Field Specialists Inc. of Shinglehouse in the case of Marlin R. Houghtaling.

Gas Field does not admit violating the ADA in agreeing to pay Houghtaling $174,000 in back pay and $10,000 in compensatory damages. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
