The construction of the Fugu-Abajo flood control project in Tumauini, Isabela designed to prevent the edges of the riverbank from erosion and protect coastal and riverbank areas is expected to be completed on Nov. 21 this year. ManilaBulletin
The Department of Public Works and Highways-Isabela First District Engineering Office said the flood control project measures a 500-lineal meter type of river control system.“Masyadong kasing prone sa pagbaha ang mga barangay na nakapalibot dito kaya kailangan nating magpatayo ng flood control para sa kanilang seguridad tuwing may banta ng pagbaha ,” said OIC-District Engineer Deoferio P. Vehemente Jr.
Hopefully, with the flood control structure, the coastal and river-bank areas, including urban, agricultural communities, and other economically dependent barangays would be spared from flooding and calamities.
