P. Scott Richards, Ph.D., is the Founder and President of the Bridges Institute for Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapies and senior editor of the Handbook of Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapies.

He was the principal investigator of a groundbreaking, recently completed $3.57 million research project funded by the John Templeton Foundation that examined the outcomes and processes of spiritually integrated psychotherapies.

He has published seven books on spirituality, mental health, and psychotherapy with the American Psychological Association , including the critically acclaimed. He is a fellow and former president of APA’s Society for the Psychology of Religion and Spirituality, and a fellow of the Society for the Advancement of Psychotherapy. He earned his Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Minnesota and holds a Graduate Certificate in Creative Writing from Fairfield University in Connecticut.
