OZARK- The life and legacy of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is being recognized in Ozark with multiple events hosted by the Ozark/Dale County Ministerial Alliance, that culminates in a citywide celebration Jan. 20 and the public is invited to all of them.

“While gaining national recognition for his philosophy of nonviolence, Dr. King remained steadfast and uncompromising in his pursuit of equality and justice for all people, regardless of race,” Blankenship said. “We honor his work for tolerance, peace, and equality making Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day a time to unite in prayer and recommit ourselves to the American dream, where all people, irrespective of color, enjoy equal opportunities.

Jan. 15: A Mid-Week Church Service at Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 1219 E. Highway 27 in Ozark, is at 7 p.m. Jan. 20: The Main Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Celebration is at Greater Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, located at 707 West Reynolds Street in Ozark, at 11 a.m.
