Oxhey Jets ended their five-match losing run in impressive fashion with a 4-2 victory over Eversley & California in Division One of the Combined Counties League on Saturday.
The decision to make significant changes to the hosts’ line-up had the desired effect, including a superb debut for Danny Fowler after he spent ten minutes in the sin-bin early in the game following a cheeky comment to a linesman. Despite being a man down temporarily, Jets went in front after 23 minutes when Kleyton De Biazze scored with a well-placed shot from the edge of the penalty area.The home side were disappointed with the manner in which Eversley equalised ten minutes later when hesitation in the defence was punished.
Jets were warned not to make a slow start to the second half and they responded superbly, going back in front four minutes after the restart when Dylan Hickman-Singh beat his man before setting up De Biazze to net his second from six yards out.
