The month long overseas voting for the May 2022 polls will start Sunday, April 10. READ:

More than 1.6 million registered overseas voters are expected to cast their vote in the different Philippine posts, embassies, or consulates.

Data from the Commission on Elections – Office for Overseas Voting showed the Middle East and African region having the highest number of voters with 786,997 followed by the Asia Pacific with 450,282, the Americas with 306,445, and Europe with 153,491. Of the 92 Philippine posts, 46 will be using the automated election system, 46 shall use the manual system, 52 shall use the postal method of voting, 24 the personal voting, and 16 will use mixed voting.

However, there may be some who may not be able to cast their votes as the Comelec is eyeing to suspend the voting in some areas such as in Iraq, Algeria, Chad, Tunisia, Libya, Afghanistan, and Ukraine. To increase the number of voter turnout, the Comelec said registered overseas voters who had to move after the close of the registration period to another country or area under the jurisdiction of another Post can still vote if said Post is implementing personal voting.
