Public Affairs Officer Cesar Yabor said some counties on that list include Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Lee, Marion, Pinellas, Sarasota, Union, and Washington.The IRS had originally extended the deadline to file taxes to Oct. 15; however, as communities recover from Hurricane Helene and prepare for Hurricane Milton, Yabor said there’s potential for even more pushback.
“The Panhandle counties, North Florida counties, and then swinging down to Tampa, which is about 41 counties, those folks will have until May the first of next year to follow taxes and to pay for any debts they may owe,” Yabor said.Yabor tells News4Jax that for those who have already filed and owe taxes, those payments are still due by the originally scheduled Oct. 15 deadline.John anchors at 9 a.m.
