PETALING JAYA: There are over 300 projects that are currently abandoned as of October, a situation that requires immediate attention, says Nga Kor Ming.

The Local Government Development Minister also said a special task force will be set up to deal with abandoned or “sick” housing projects in efforts to protect home buyers.

He added that the ministry is reviewing the national housing policy to promote sustainable and affordable housing. "Discussions with industry players including associations, government agencies and housing-related stakeholders will be held next year to discuss potential prospects and challenges as the country braces for an economic slowdown, heightening policy, inflation and a possibility of recession," he said.
