IPOH: More than 20 hotels and hostels in the city have received certification for adhering to the standard operating procedure (SOP).
Tourism Perak chief executive officer Nurmalis Musa said the certificate, which is awarded by the Perak government, is to give tourists confidence to stay at these hotels.
"The Perak Tourism Management Berhad and Perak Tourism Association will visit the hotels to check if they follow the regulations. "These include schedules to sanitise and clean the rooms, procedures for checking staff and visitors’ temperature and more, ” she told reporters after presenting the certificates to representatives of the hotels at Casuarina@Meru Hotel here Wednesday .
Nurmalis said all the hotels involved are registered with the Malaysia Association Hotel Perak Chapter and Malaysia Budget Hotel Association.She said registered homestays would also be checked to ensure they follow the SOP and regulations.
