MCDONALDS pushed on with its return to normality, opening a further 168 drive-thrus yesterday - plus another 22 for delivery.welcomed back Big Mac and McFlurry fans who had not had a fix since the restaurants shut on March 23.Over 1,000 McDonald’s are set to have reopened by tomorrow with huge queues in Dunstable already built up yesterday at the drive-thruIt is the latest stage in having more than 1,019 of its restaurants in the UK and Ireland open for drive thru or delivery by tomorrow.
Until yesterday, 44 had been open as bosses finetuned the best ways to keep staff, delivery drivers and customers safe. There are no plans yet to open for takeaway, and for now no restaurants are allowed to open for eating in. Perspex screen and floor markings will help with contactless pick-ups. Staff will also wear face masks and have daily temperature checks. Smaller staff in kitchens means there are limited menus and shorter opening hours - with opening time at 11am.
Orders for drive thru and delivery are limited to £25 to speed things up. Delivery will be via Uber Eats and Just Eat.
