Cadbury has come under fire over a major change to one of its most iconic chocolate bars. The company has confirmed that its popular Cherry Ripe bars have been reduced in size - dropping from 52g to 44g. Despite the 15 per cent decrease in weight, it’s understood the product will stay priced at $2.50 at all major retailers including Coles and Woolworths. A Cadbury spokesperson said the bar sizes have been dropped in size to comply with health recommendations.
“So I guess the new smaller bars will take the 52s spot and price once they are cleared out?” The post sparked a wave of criticism on Reddit. “I honestly don’t like this, Cherry Ripe is always good to have ... but if they’re going to have us charge more for less, then I might not buy as much as I used to,” one said. Another added: “This will never end until there’s nothing left.
