The 60-year-old man was interviewed by detectives at Silverwater prison in western Sydney and charged yesterday, It follows a police investigation at the Hawkesbury, about 140km north of Sydney, into reports a 29-year-old woman was allegedly sexually assaulted between 2017 and 2021.Detectives spoke with a further two women – aged 19 and 39 - as part of their investigations.Detectives have since spoken to a 27-year-old woman.
The man has now been charged with a range of offences including aggravated sexual assault, breaking and enterering and attempt to cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent. Police will allege in court that the man – who is known to the woman – sexually assaulted the woman in May 2017 and physically assaulted her in June 2020 during a break-in at her home.
