Outlander season 7, episode 12 explored the fallout of Jamie's believed death and return, and just about everyone was on their very worst behavior. The episode picks up after a cliffhanger in episode 11, which revealed that Jamie was still alive and on the run from the law. To make this even more exciting, Jamie's return led to William Ransom learning the truth about his parentage, which he didn't take well at all.

At the beginning of episode 12, Jamie beats Lord John to a pulp in the forest after learning that the man had slept with Claire in Outlander season 7, episode 11. He seemed determined to kill his friend, and perhaps he only didn't because they were chanced upon by a group of rebel soldiers. As a rebel himself, Jamie was able to walk away, but only if he didn't protest the soldiers taking loyalist Lord John away.

Shots were fired, but the screen went black, leaving the question of whether this Outlander character's big escape would be successful. Posts Jamie told Claire that she could sleep with the whole British army and he would still forgive her. This wasn't quite saying that he accepted what she had done or recognized that it wasn't really a betrayal . Rather, Jamie simply stated that he would stick by Claire no matter what sin she committed. Things are still a bit tense between Claire and Jamie at the end of Outlander season 7, episode 12, but this is eclipsed by their joy at having been reunited.

However, his temper again got the better of him, and he was kicked out of the place when he smashed a pitcher of wine. Of course, this was still only the beginning of his atrocious decisions. William later ran into Rachel Hunter and Ian Murray and didn't take the news that they were engaged particularly well.
