Outgoing Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter has opened a criminal case after having survived an alleged murder attempt last month.
The incident took place at his Megawatt Park Office in Sunninghill on 13 December 2022, shortly before his resignation was publicly announced.According to the reports, De Ruyter became dizzy, weak, confused, and began shaking and vomiting profusely after drinking a cup of coffee. A series of blood tests taken subsequently revealed massively elevated levels of cyanide in his body.
