University of Saskatchewan Huskies failed to gain an at-large wild-card berth for the 2023 U Sports Final 8 women's basketball championship.
The Carleton Ravens, who won the Ontario University Athletics conference title with a 70-57 win over then-No. 1 Queen’s University on Saturday, will be the top seed going into the Final 8. This is the Ravens’ second time as the No. 1 seed, with the last time coming in 2018, when they went on to win their only previous national championship.
Carly Ahlstrom is the Canada West representative for U Sports’ Nan Copp Award given to the player of the year. Ahlstrom and Gage Grassick were both Canada West all-stars this season.
