“Where we find it difficult, I think for either agency, to do public announcements, is if we’re not clear on the cause of death, or perhaps there’s a death that occurs outside and there may be contributing factors such as addictions, potential for overdose and those sorts of things, and we sometimes don’t know that right away. It might take some investigation,” he told the board.Article content

“It does happen, it’s just formally, in cases where there’s non-suspicious deaths, officially that’s jurisdiction and the purview of the coroner’s office,” he said.
