Thursday, NBC 15 asked Mobile 's chief of staff, James Barber if the allegation made against him by former Gulf Coast Technology Center director, Kevin Levy was true. Levy claims Barber asked him to exam former Mobile police Chief Paul Prine ’s city issued laptop and see if he could find something on it. Before Barber could answer our reporter's question, city media spokesperson Jason Johnson ended the interview.
Prine says when he filed a complaint against chief of staff Barber is when he started being told he was the root of several problems within the police force and that he needed to be replaced. "The police department has been toxic my entire career and we were addressing the culture. I would argue we changed the culture in the department for the good; 48% down in attrition," said Prine.
