The World Health Organisation has already declared that the outbreak is causing increased levels of anxiety and mental health charities are also reporting a surge in calls to their helplines.
Stuart believes people need to remain in contact with each other and have open conversations, saying: "We'll never know unless we ask."We've all got to take responsibility, not just for ourselves but for people around us. We live in a global community where we're supposed to look out for each other," he says.
"As you’d expect, we’re hearing from many people whose mental health has been affected by the coronavirus," Emily Weatherby from mental health charity Mind told Sun Online. "The toleration of uncertainty is hard for any of us — the general thing I’m hearing when talking to callers is when is all this going to end?" he says.
